International Media Programme
Tourism New Zealand’s International Media Programme (IMP) supports international media interest in New Zealand.
IMP activity ranges from support of media visits, to a media discount pass, to providing editorial content, contacts, images, and broadcast quality video footage.
Tourism New Zealand staff in offshore offices around the world can assist media with background research on New Zealand as a destination, and provide advice on practical matters for visits to New Zealand.
The International Media Centre (IMC) in Auckland supplies journalists with support in planning itineraries and provides assistance while media are visiting New Zealand. International media visiting New Zealand are welcome to use the IMC as a resource centre for accessing story angles or any media resources they might need to portray New Zealand as a tourism destination.
Together with New Zealand’s Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO), the IMP team does everything from organising interview subjects to making special arrangements for television crews and photographers, and advising on relevant permits.
