LOTR and Narnia filming locations

World-famous film directors Peter Jackson and Andrew Adamson used New Zealand’s unspoilt scenery to make Middle-earth and Narnia remarkably real. While both directors are proud New Zealanders, they chose to film here primarily because our geography can provide a huge variety of filming locations. From snowy mountains and desolate volcanic wasteland to serene beaches and enchanted forest, New Zealand is a cinematic paradise.
